Top Secrets for Taking Your Brand to the Next Level


On the blog today is some not-so-secret secrets that will seriously take your business’s brand to the next level. In today’s world, businesses who want to succeed need to push their brand a little further than their competitors and that could mean a lot of things but for now, we will limit it to a few.

Be unique

I’ll start this list off with something that should be obvious, but too often do I see businesses relying on stock logos and photos to brand their business, or basing it off a brand they saw off of Pinterest. It's all well and good to have inspiration but when you let it take over your business you fall into a trap of not standing out. And with so many businesses out there, (seriously, as a brand designer I have seen them all!) it is even harder to stand out.

Refine, refine, refine

I have made this mistake in my own business with hitting send on that email before looking over it for typos, or sending a design without noticing that the kerning was off, and my business suffered for it. In every single aspect of your brand you need to be polishing it and refining it until it shines. Whether it's on social media, your website, or emails, don’t post it until you’re certain that it can’t be refined. And on that note,

Have a theme

A theme is a lot more than simply posting things in the same filter. It is made up of the type of things you post, the words you speak and the message you’re trying to spread. Your content should reflect who you are and your audience shouldn’t need to wonder about who you are and why they should choose you.

Be consistent

Consistency is key! Before posting anything, make sure that whatever it is suits your current brand. If you post minimal photos and out of nowhere an overly-saturated image pops up on your social media page, aside from ruining aesthetics, your lovely audience who are with you for who you are might be suddenly left feeling very confused.
